Hello—I’m Lori and it is so nice to have you here! I live in Southern California with my smart and handsome husband of almost four decades and our friendly, rambunctious border collie rescue. Our two adult daughters and son-in-law live nearby. Our son Joe died of brain cancer in 2017 at the age of twenty-four, and we miss him every day. My recently-published memoir describes my experience of walking with Joe on that journey, and my grief and healing process in the years since he died.
Click Remembering Joe to be taken to a website/blog all about Joe, his music, and my grief journey. (To start at the beginning, scroll all the way down to the first post: Word of the Year)
I drink tea. I eat dark chocolate—just enough. I read and study the Bible. I love hanging out in libraries and bookstores (especially if they have antique books). And gardens and arboretums. And the beach, but not in the summer.
I write about finding peace in seasons of suffering. I also write about travel, family, finding my introvert place in an extravert culture, and through it all, I write about the goodness of God.
